22/23 February Calday Grammar School The Wirral
Excellent couple of days doing RoboSearch with about 60 youngsters per session.
This was followed by a good event for 30 Y5 youngsters for one of Calday's feeder primary feeder schools, Holy Trinity.
Two day event to pick teams for the RoboCup Final on March 6th.
First Lego's RCX for search, then the NXT for soccer.
Manchester Creative and Media Academy
A good couple of hours, where the youngsters made a vibrobot and examined animation mechanisms.
Some excellent ideas were put on paper, in preparation for the all day next session.
The first day was an art animation day, using movement mechanisms. Some lovely moving models.
The second day was Lego's NXT2 and getting the robots around a homemade maze.
The third and fourth day was robotising soft toys using Lego's RCX.
The last day was a couple of two hour sessions introducing C and the Arduino. A simple reed relay alarm was made.
